Water Treatment Technology Keeps Costs Low
First Utility District operates a 34 million gallon per day water treatment plant. Our goal is to produce the cleanest water possible in the most cost effective way.
Our plant is controlled through an advanced computer system by experienced Grade 4 state certified operators, an ultimate level of training. Water is monitored 24 hours a day, and samples are lab tested on a regular basis, in accordance with all state and federal regulations.
How efficient is our plant? First Utility District is able to deliver clean water to its customers at an average cost of just .261 cents per gallon.
In fact, three bottles of water purchased at your local grocery store cost more than 1,000 gallons of water delivered from First Utility District to your home.
Plant tours of our water treatment plant are available to school groups and others. We welcome the opportunity to serve our community by providing complete details for the process of water treatment and what it takes to make it clean enough to drink and use in your home.
